Our outward persona is like a mask we wear. The brands, styles, and attitudes we deliver and want others to perceive are a blend of authentic and adopted identities. Identity is a curious thing to me. Growing up in pop culture, I realize much of my identity is shaped by what I see, what I’m told to want, and the people I try to emulate–who seem to have it all. I’m on a search for authentic self, and I think we all should be. How much of our identities are truly ours, and how much are masks we’ve been handed?
