Atlas was punished by Zeus for revolting against his rule, and made to hold the weight of the world on his shoulders, forever. America’s media-driven culture loads us all with expectations of perfection. We are driven to succeed, to be beautiful, to be wanted, to be the best. These are burdens we all carry. What would happen if we set the burdens down? How could our lives change? What if we stopped carrying the weight of the world’s expectations on our shoulders?
